چکیده

Using Web-based content management systems such as Blog, an end user can easily publish User Generated Content (UGC). Although publishing of UGCs is easy, controlling access to them is a difficult problem for end users. Currently, most of Blog sites offer no access control mechanism, and even when it is available to users, it is not sufficient to control users who do not have an account at the site, not to mention that it cannot control accesses to content hosted by other UGC sites. In this paper, we propose new access control architecture for UGC, in which third party entities can offer access control mechanism to users independently of UGC hosting sites. With this architecture, a user can control accesses to his content that might be spread over many different UGC sites, regardless of whether those sites have access control mechanism or not. The key idea to separate access control mechanism from UGC sites is to apply cryptographic access control and we implemented the idea in such a way that it requires no modification to UGC sites and Web browsers. Our prototype implementation shows that the proposed access control architecture can be easily deployed in the current Web-based communication environment and it works quite well with popular Blog sites. key words: Web, User Generated Content (UGC), Blog and Cryptographic Access Control.

Access and Mobility Policy Control at the Network Edge

The fifth generation (5G) system architecture is defined as service-based and the core network functions are described as sets of services accessible through application programming interfaces (API). One of the components of 5G is Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) which provides the open access to radio network functions through API. Using the mobile edge API third party analytics applications ...

System designs for bulk and user-generated content delivery in the internet

This thesis proposes and evaluates new system designs to support two emerging Internet workloads: (a) bulk content, such as downloads of large media and scientific libraries, and (b) user-generated content (UGC), such as photos and videos that users share online, typically on online social networks (OSNs). Bulk content accounts for a large and growing fraction of today’s Internet traffic. Due t...

Smart City Reference Model: Interconnectivity for On-Demand User to Service Authentication

The Internet of Things and Services (IoTS) has encouraged the development of service provisioning systems in respect to Smart City topics. Most of them are operated as heterogeneous systems which limits end customers’ access and contradicts with IoTS principles. In this paper, we discuss and develop a reference model of an interconnected service marketplace ecosystem. The prototypical implement...

Attracting Whom? - Managing User-Generated-Content Communities for Monetization

Successful monetization of user-generated-content (UGC) business calls for attracting enough users, and the right users. The defining characteristic of UGC is users are also content contributors. In this study, we analyze the impact of a UGC firm’s quality control decision on user community composition. We model two UGC firms in competition, with one permitting only high quality content while t...
